Moralphobia
May 18, 2010 – 12:25 pmThe collectivists love to project upon their political and cultural opponents their own emotions and motivations. It happens daily. They call freedom minded people “selfish” yet give far less of their time and money to the needy than the target of their perjorative. They ascribe “hate” and “fear” towards thinking liberty oriented people because it is a prime motivational driver of the dependent left sheople. They assign the aspersion “intolerant” towards citizens who’s opinions and positions socialists can’t tolerate.
“Islamophobia” and “Homophobia” are two good examples of the twisted language preferred by the left. Rather than rationally discuss the differences in attitudes, values and positions (as illustrated here) they prefer to apply an inaccurate and inappropriate label so they can feel good about themselves. Homophobia imputes a “fear” of homosexuality in the context of this word made up by the left and by homosexuals. Only the intellectually lazy or patently dishonest can’t make a distinction between fear of something and moral opposition to something in behavior. That is because collectivists and many homosexuals don’t want to have any moral standard applicable. They are afraid of morals because that would cause them to feel bad about their behavior. Similarly, the leftists (and of course supporters of radical islamist activities) love to attribute “Islamophobia” to people concerned about the current threats posed by RADICAL Islamist terrorists. Only the intellectually lazy or patently dishonest construe legitimate concerns about a deadly fanatical segment of a religious population with “fear” of that entire population.
So why don’t many liberals/leftist/collectivists want to confront radical extremists in any defined cultural, religious or political sub-group? I speculate that it is fear. Fear on many fronts. Fear of Islamists, fear of the perceptions of others, fear of feeling uncomfortable or perhaps fear of rejection by the rest of the collectivist flock of sheople. Mike Adams takes a good look at liberals apparent fear of Islam.
This discomfort and fear displayed by the left and their readily apparent ease to “take offense” is rooted in the chief phobia of the collectivists. Fear of established moral values. Morals are relative to many on the left. They define liberty as license. They are deathly afraid that morals might be “imposed” on them. This rebellious spirit has plagued mankind for millenia. If rules are gray or “relative” then there are no rules. With no moral framework there are no established moral norms. Watch the visceral and even intellectually violent reaction of many leftists when you bring morals into an argument. Without established cultural morals there can be no effective ethics for behavior. There can be no strengthening of culture via COMMON values. All cultures are not equal despited what moral-phobic leftists will say. There IS right and wrong. Such are simple and logical unless one is afraid of anything that might encourage self-control, self-discipline and self-restraint.
Of course this is just one person’s opinion. Liberty is not license but requires the rule of common (not malleable) law. Morals aren’t relative. Truth is hate only to those who hate the truth.
