Brownshirt Tactics

May 21, 2010 – 7:21 pm

I admonish my fellow freedom travelers to avoid the Nazi terminology when discussing the left but sometimes it is unavoidable, if done in proper context.  The SEIU staged a “protest” at a “Bank of America Executive’s” home in Maryland (suburban DC).  This incident was even abetted by the DC metro police.

Why the heck are 500 “Service Employee” union members screaming on some bank lawyers lawn?  Why to get press and intimidate the bank the man works for.  Instead they succeeded in intimidating an innocent teenager who happened to be home.  I don’t know how that is supposed to have any impact on “bank greed”.  Even if it did, is that what the SEIU’s organizational purpose is?

The Storm Troopers (brown shirts or SA) of 1920s and 30s Germany engaged in intimidation by large passionate mobs of angry sounding people.  Compare these SEIU (collectivist sheople) methods of “protest” to the peaceful protests of tea party activists nationwide.

  2. As a former member of an SEIU-affiliated union, I am twice disgusted by this. You are correct in admonishing us not to rail on our adversaries, even though that is SOP for many (but by no means all) of them.
That said, to paraphrase Sally Field, “Brownshirt is as Brownshirt does, Forest.” This kind of behavior should be brought to the attention of everyone, so as to make it backfire even more. The blowback from this kind of thuggery ought to cost their allies many thousands of votes.
One final note: BofA is a TARP recipient, and as such, no friend of liberty. Two wrongs, however, still don’t make a right.
