In honor of Gaia
March 27, 2010 – 7:21 amAs we do each year in honor of “Earth Hour” today we ask you to participate.
As your touchy feely emotion driven fact free leftist collectivist neighbors (if any) turn off their lights in honor of dear mother earth you can make a bold statement as we do.
At the appointed hour turn ON EVERYTHING you can.
I will:
- Do laundry (timed so both washer and dryer are going)
- Cook a fancy meal (involving four burners, oven, microwave and several kitchen appliances)
- Play my stereos (on the same channels except one playing CD).
- Run all my televisions sets. Some with DVD players going others with just TV
- Turn on all my lights inside and out.
- Fill my tubs with hot water for a good scrub out.
- Vacuum the house
For those who can’t afford such usage, no worries. This is simply a statement to all my fellow people arrogant enough to believe that they change the earth’s climate or impact it at all with useless symbolic gestures of sheople.

Didn’t Pat Buchanan once say that they replaced Easter with Earthg Day in the public schools so our kids could learn to worship dirt?

Thanks for the detailed list of things you will do to combat Earth Hour. When I first read the sentence “Play my stereos” I started to think to myself “Huh, I wonder what she’ll be listening to on those radios because a bunch of radios tuned to different station can be really noisy and hard to listen to.”, but then I got to your clarification in parentheses. I would like to know what CD you were listening to, though. Also, what was the fancy meal you cooked? I tried to do the same thing but I’m not much of a cook so I just made 4 pots of macaroni and some toast (my microwave doesn’t work right now, but I’ll be getting a new one soon!).
Here are a few ideas I had for next year (maybe you could do a post about this?):
Turn on your heat and your air conditioning at the same time! They’ll cancel each other out so you’re still comfortable but using a ton more electricity!
1) Plug in all your hair dryers!
2) Put those Christmas lights back out!
3) Make sure an extension cord is plugged into every outlet! (I don’t know if this uses more electricity, but it seems like it should!)
4) Buy some cheap lamps (or borrow from friends) and plug those in!
5) Offer to let your neighbors run extensions chords from their electronics to an outlet at your house!
6) Put larger fuses in the fusebox! (This will let your electronics, etc use more energy before a circuit is tripped)
7) Only drink blended drinks! (this only works if you blender is electric)
9) Leave your refrigerator door open!
10) Flush your toilet extra times! (I’m not sure toilets use electricity)
Anyway, thanks for the great post.
P.S. What DVDs did you watch?

Good ideas! Played DC Talk Supernatural. Played the Lord of the rings (Two Towers) and a football highlights dealy. Don’t have AC but did run the furnace high. Didn’t want to spoil food so didn’t leave those open, turning them all the way up for an hour is good though. Cooked Lasagna, bread, cake cookies, custard, 3 kinds of veggie made fruit slushies and toasted more bread. Rolls and salad. Had to run the dishwasher twice!
Its fun to make pointless points and more fun to write about them. My neighborhood wasn’t too dark so I’m not sure the sheople herders are having the impact they want to.
