I would rather that government funds were either spent on something beneficial to the local population or returned to the people. I don’t see why tax payers should be charged for Christmas decorations or why people aren’t satisfied with putting up decorations in their own front yard.

Really, you don’t think it harms God’s word if anyone out there can produce a letter they say was written by His Son? You obviously agree with the sentiments in the above letter or you wouldn’t have posted it, but what if some other “Christian” writes a letter that has sentiments you don’t agree with? Maybe you should try following item #9 in the letter you posted above. If Jesus was sitting next to you how would you explain posting a letter that proposes to speak for Him when His words are freely available to read in so many other places?

What if you already do as you suggest? Would it still be wrong, in your mind, to be bothered that modern PC culture prohibits such displays? Public property should be a fine location for a creche scene, as it has been historically. The first amendment certainly doesn’t proscribe it. Only those who wish to banish Christian faith and America’s historical basis in same from the public sphere object.

The Word is God’s Word. There is a lot more in it than Jesus words alone. Why do you find it offensive? You aren’t harmed. Offense implies some harm to you. If you are versed in The Word you’d know which cheek to turn I’m guessing. Sorry that you choose to be offended by that which harms no one.

Also, I find it offensive to have a reader put words in Jesus’ mouth. He does a fine job of speaking for Himself already if you take the time to read His Book.

“If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn’t allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn.”

If you’re able to display a nativity scene on your front lawn then your town DOES allow a scene depicting the birth of Jesus.
