Callous Children, Indeed

October 30, 2009 – 4:42 pm

The Boomer generation, now dominating the Nation’s councils, continues, collectively, to act like an army of locusts, consuming not only physical resources, but civility, foresightedness, patriotism, and common decency, too.

Peggy Noonan’s latest column, ably and insightfully reviewed at one of my favorite blogs, The Burning Platform,

examines the character of our national leadership, both public and private.  Her conclusion:  They have given up hope, or at least they know that they do not have the answers.  A crisis of confidence engulfs all sides.  The article, and the commentary on it, are both well worth reading.  Perhaps national despair will be father to the resolve and insight we so sorely need in the councils of leadership.
