Winds of Dune Cover Art (New)Wind of Dune is the newest novel in the Dune Universe by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. It takes place just after the end of Dune Messiah, when Paul Artreides, Emperor of the known Universe, has walked off into the desert to meet his fate as blind Fremen.

Intrigue is the name of the game as Alia struggles to show the universe that she is capable of ruling the Empire until Paul’s children come of age, while trying to stamp out a propaganda campaign by Paul’s former friend, Bronso of Ix, meant to dispel the myths that have spread concerning Muad’Dib

Jessica, upon hearing of her son’s choice, decides to leave Caladan with Gurney to help Alia and the Ghola Duncan keep Paul’s fragile new empire from falling apart and to make sure that Paul’s legacy is remembered just the way that Paul wanted it to be.

Winds of Dune brings back many of the original cast of characters from the original series, and introduces us to some interesting new characters. The authors take on a journey across the universe and across time as they reveal more about how the adventures of a young Paul Artreides shaped the man who became Muad’Dib.  Jessica works hard to make sure that Paul’s legacy is remembered just the way that Paul had wished it to be.

If you are a fan of the both of the original Dune series by Frank Herbert and the new Dune books by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson you will want to add Winds of Dune to your “Must Read” list.
