David Letterman is a Punk
June 12, 2009 – 3:34 pmI don’t generally watch TV, and when I do, it isn’t the boorish trash on shows like Letterman’s. If what I read is to be believed, Letterman made a ‘joke’ at Gov. Palin’s daughter’s expense – something involving the phrase ‘knocked up’ and a visit to Yankee Stadium. Civilized people don’t insult other people’s children, and if they do, they offer an apology. This is alll the more insulting in that I can’t imagine Letterman asking Hillary if Bill has ‘knocked up’ any interns lately, or his making jokes at the expense of any Democrat’s children. This was truly classless, and validates my non-viewership of what’s on the idiot box.
I’d think better of Gov. Palin if she’s have slapped Letterman. She didn’t, but don’t put me on the jury if her husband, lacking an apology for the assuredly premeditated verbal assault on a non-political person, knocks the stupid out of Letterman, which any red-blooded man would surely want to do.
In closing, people who joke about other people’s daughters getting ‘knocked up’ deserve to be knocked down.

Two points: Sarah was not on the Late Show when Letterman made those remarks, and Letterman does not “tell” jokes, he IS the joke.

There is a serious grassroots boycott/termination campaign on behalf of Palin. I have already called and written (two of the three family advertisers I talked to had already gotten an earful). Go here for ideas:

Great ideas by Mut. For BR, I wouldn’t be surprised if she had slapped him had she been there. Of course, the likes of Letterman wouldn’t say such things where a person could actually react and respond to them. Cowardice called comedy. Shame on the audience laughing too.
