Mut: Community Organizer with Non-Profit Group

May 20, 2009 – 9:07 pm

Dear Friends: Thanks for the very kind words! I don’t think President Obama had my brand of agitation in mind when he called for people to be “community organizers” and promoted the worthiness of “non-profit” groups. I am still catching my breath after my grassroots, non-profit Tea Party group, Southern California Tax Revolt Coalition, LLC, partnered with other tax advocacy entities throughout the state who managed to organize our citizens to vote down a suite of deceptive propositions during the May 19th special election. Even more impressive — we were outspent 20 million dollars and still managed a resounding 65%/35% margin.

The details of the victory, and where we go from here is summed up on the San Diego News Network, which has asked me to be a regular contributor. Mut’s Money Quote: Southern California Tax Revolt Coalition will continue, inspired by this quote from the original “Terminator” (paraphrasing slightly): We cannot be bargained with and we absolutely will not stop. Until Sacramento special-interest politicians are gone.

The previous post had a link to my first Fox Business Network appearance. I was also invited into the local Fox studio today to film a second live show (Happy Hour) with that Network. I am hoping that we find a way to get that episode in viewable form. The good news is that the local Fox affiliate morning news Executive Producer was impressed, calling it “good TV” and that I knew my facts. We exchanged contact information, so I am hoping it leads to further work with them. It has been a blast.

Other highlights around the web, which I could only glance at today, include two by Founding bloggers:

1) ACORN official says they have to “terrorize bankers”.
2) GOP-supporting Chrysler dealerships seem to be targeted for closure.

The Anchoress was on target with: There go 150,000 jobs! (Related to the new California-based emission standards — again, I find I am apologizing for the disease that is my state’s policies).

Any more of this sort of thing, and we will all be working for non-profits!
