“Trust Fund”?
April 3, 2009 – 5:52 pm Investors Business Daily reports that Social Security is rapidly running out of money. No surprise here; as commentators from Barry Goldwatuer (1964) to our friend Mut (2009) have pointed out, Social Security is nothing but a Ponzi scheme, writ large. It has always been actuarially unsound, and that is now the subject of immanent, unavoidable crisis. If you or I ran a ‘trust fund’ like this, we’d go to jail. Madoff, a piker in comaprison to FDR, likely will see prison time, but none of the politicians who sold our children into debt-bondage will.
If we can’t jail them, then we ought to at least fire them. They deserve unemployment more than do 90% of those now experiencing it.

One Response to ““Trust Fund”?”
The operative word is “trust”. How much do YOU “trust” the supposed SSI fund? Me? Not at all, not even a little. My sister likes it though as it ensures (rather than insures) that she doesn’t have to work even if able.
Why is it a “third rail”? Why shouldn’t it be done away with as the unconstitutional program that it is?
