Obama Defenders deny history
April 1, 2009 – 2:34 pmI was just listening to a man on the radio claim that “Roosevelt’s New Deal was temporary” and that it reduced unemployment from “25% to 10% before it went back up to 15%”. The TVA, Social Security, and many other programs just seemed to have never gone away. Not really the definition of temporary.
This is typical of *progressive* collectivists ignorance or ignoring of factual history. Here is a table that shows how the New Deal impacted unemployment.

Another silly argument is the “you didn’t live during the depression” position. Living through it doesn’t change the facts of the matter. It may even make things more clear. Roosevelt swayed American voters by his charisma and effective politics combined with the incompetence of the Republican party of the time. His popularity was DESPITE his obvious failures in resolving the depression
Strange how socialistic oriented people delude themselves. Another example is the media and the left making comparisons of the Obamessiah to Abraham Lincoln. How much of THIS do you think Obama subscribes to.
