A Powerful American Perspective
April 4, 2009 – 9:51 amThe content below is from an email correspondence with a friend. He is a solid, responsible, hard working regular American. I value his insights highly. It is unfortunate that he can’t contribute more and more often. This is a powerful statement and testimony
===============================
We live in a time where “principals” no longer exist for many. Look at Sodom and Gomorra, the fall of the Roman Empire the same moral breakdowns occurred in each. We have been fed the line of “you can have what ever you want when you want” long and hard. Personal responsibility no longer matters, we can run up a credit card and then turn around and “settle” the debt for as little as 40%. Those of us who believe in a moral and righteous GOD must set the example. I imagine that you know many people who are in debt up to their necks and are still spending like there is no tomorrow, well for them there is no tomorrow.
Since the election I have been quite the political junkie, it’s had a negative effect on my happiness and my wife has said so, but one day during a conversation she reminded me that I serve a GOD who is bigger than the “global economy” and bigger than what I perceive to be wrong with our country, that really hit home for me I still listen to the radio (much less) on the way to work and home but it does not affect me nearly as much. We prayed like mad that the eyes of the citizens would be opened to what this man is, but everyone has a choice, and we got someone who promised change and made it look good. Most people can’t see past next week and that is exactly how they voted.
What % of the people are just that dumb, we figured it too be about 40%, we figured wrong. I am sad to report that nearly 55% of those who voted are just plain stupid and have no idea what this country was founded on. When you have young people voting for a man because of his color you have serious problems, I would guess that 70% of those that voted for Obama had no idea what he stood for, they just hated Bush so much that anything not associated to him was better.
In my opinion no matter who was elected we would be traveling the same path, the difference is the speed at which we travel the Obamanauts are moving much faster, but in reality it’s just a matter of time. Possibly because of the massive shift it may have awakened the citizens but I’m not sure that without a large uproar the “representatives” will listen. Maybe the coming Tea Parties across America will do something, I’m not sure.
I am a Patriot I would’ve been 200 years ago, I love my country and what it once stood for, It pains me to no end how our rights and freedoms have been trampled upon, and it’s not new either this has been going on since the new deal, the government slowly overstepped its authority and now it’s making a big grab. Men of great wisdom, all of whom had much to lose saw the dangers of a lazy citizenry warned against it in their personal writings. Men who died in battle on foreign fields to secure our liberties and yet our fathers and a generation before us has let them slip away. Thomas Paine said ““If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace”…. I no longer wear the uniform of this nation, I owe no allegiance to anything that I do not believe in, I believe that GOD is alive and in the Constitution of the United States of America, I am willing to die for either or both. That my children and posterity may live in peace.
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
