Why do people think government is the answer
March 30, 2009 – 4:45 pmStar Parker laments a civil rights organization’s recommendations for government money and programs to “solve” problems in some majority black communities.
Why do so many in American think that government is the answer to poverty or economic challenges? You would think people would recognize such colossal and repeated failure.
The collectivists propose government provide:
- More money for “the poor” (who would be rich or comfortable in most other countries). Numbers of poor haven’t changed
- More money for education. Student performance continues to degrade
- More money for health care. The VA and Medicare show you how well the government manages health care.
We would like someone, anyone, to answer these questions in a persuasive way. Where have government socialist/collectivist controls EVER worked?
See Milton Friedman explain it to an emotion driven liberal
