Thank you for your email, and please allow me to address your concerns.

Let me be perfectly clear – we are not trying to, or do we have any intention to control the tea parties. We are partnering with this movement specifically because it is genuine and grassroots, and we are doing everything in our power to make sure it stays that way. Our involvement is as a sponsor and a partner because we believe we can help to make these bigger and bring more attention to them.

If you listen closely to exactly what Newt said on Greta the other night, he said, “The Tax Day Tea Party movement, which is actually American Solutions.com, is helping with a great deal…” you’ll see he misspoke.

He did not mean to say the website. What he was saying was “the Tax Day Tea Party movement, which actually American Solutions is helping with a great deal…”

He was making the point that we’re helping a great, not that it is AmericanSolutions.com.

We also want to get involved specifically because of the non-partisan nature. We include among our membership a large number of Democrats, Republicans and independents. The anger over this irresponsible spending is bringing people of all different political stripes together, and we aim to encourage that.

I hope that begins to address your concerns, and that you understand this is nothing even resembling an “arrogant assumption.”
