FIGHT THE PORK PACKAGE TODAY

January 29, 2009 – 12:16 pm

“DEAR MUT”: I really hate the fact the Obama-Reid-Pelosi Democrat Reward Plan passed yesterday, but what can I do?”

Dear Friend: No matter what you think of the behavior of the Republican party for the past eight years, the time has come to unite and fight for our liberties — financial, personal and otherwise. I am asking for all blog readers to practice a little activism today, and contact as many US Senators as practical to let them know that Obama’s Porkfest 2009 is neither stimulating or bipartisan and does not deserve our support. We have to light a fire under their feet, and today is not too soon to start.

“DEAR MUT”: How do I start?”

Dear Friend: Here is a solid starting point to contact your Senators:

“DEAR MUT”: What do I say”

I find brevity and bribery effective: So here is a little piece I wrote Senator McCain, to give you an example:

Dear Senator McCain: Being from California, I have NO hope my senators will listen to me. However, as a fellow American, I am writing to BEG you to FILIBUSTER the Obama-Reid-Pelosi pork package. This plan is nothing more than a payout to Democrat special interest groups from my son’s future taxes. I am a devoted Republican, and want no part of this. This is the Democrat plan, and the Democrat’s can own it outright. I would really appreciate a FILIBUSTER on this unless and until the plan is truly bipartisan (along the lines of Limbaugh’s plan) in the WSJ today. Thanks.

PS. I have given generously to the RNC and its senate campaign. If you oppose this to the full measure of your power, some of my income will be directed toward the next election cycle.

Other senators to contact include: Olympia Snow, Susan Collins, Mitch McConnell, Mel Martinez and Arlen Spector.

“But MUT, my senators are Democrats and will not listen, why should I call?”

Dear Friend: I am not without sympathy. I am from California — the state of Boxer and Feinstein. I wrote them to go on record that not all their citizens wererushing to embrace this plan.

The Senator is suppose to be your representative, so go ahead and let them know what you think. Be respectful and brief. They will probably ignore you, but I offer this hope: as it becomes known that the bill includes $350 million for condoms and $500 tax credit returns to illegal aliens, support for Obama’s vision is — dare I use this word — PLUMMETING! (Public Support for Economic Recovery Plan Slips to 42%)

(MUT NOTE: Egad! 42%! This is practically entering into Bush approval territory!)

Looking at the numbers, and having contacted the US Congressional offices this week, I have heard that the reviews on this monstrosity have been mostly negative. The more you complain, the less likely this spending package, which essentially makes our children indentured servants to Democrat special interest groups, is to pass.

  2. Nicely done, Mut! I feel your pain: My native Michigan foists Stabenow on the Senate, and has committed a host of other political sins. (At least they’ve not declared war on the livelihoods of other states, but they’re bad enough…)
